Built in the 17th century, the house was part of an old farm of the Cistercian monks. It has undergone architectural transformations over the years, while maintaining the essentials of the original design. Recently it has been remodeled and adapted for the development of wine tourism.
"The vineyards are incredibly picturesque and the accommodation elegant and comfortable. This is a special place run by special people who treat you like family and friends."
"We really enjoyed our time talking with Fernando, the wine maker about his winery. We were happy to get some wine, port and olive oil shipped back to the states from them."
Wine experiences at our Quinta always start with a visit to the winery. Our cellar with granite tanks with more than 200 years of history and where we continue to make our wines. The visits, of about 1 hour and where Douro and Porto wines are tasted, take place in an informal and familiar environment, carried out by family members and where our history, passion for the land and wine is shared.
"The setting is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and perfectly furnished. The reception and helpfulness of the staff and owner .. exceptional. Lovely terrace and pool. Just want to return."
"…The owners are very friendly and attentive, the breakfast is great and served very well, using local products."
The basis of what we like is in the flavors that childhood remembers, the family that gathers at Sunday lunch with its codes and rituals. And as much as changes are attempted, the return to the roots is inevitable. These roots and flavors are recovered with a touch here and there of something new and that is at the base of what we cook. We always add a dash of joy to our recipes.
"…Cozy space, charming family. For a moment I felt like we were with the family :) Thank you for, in such a short time, feeling so much comfort <3"
"Everything was gorgeous - the quinta a wonderful place, very nice and comfortable rooms, spacious with beautiful furniture. Manuela, Fernando and the team are great hosts who gave us a very very warm welcome. Wonderful breakfast with lots of homemade food."
The house has two rooms adapted to tourism, spacious and comfortable, overlooking an outdoor patio. Although they are independent, guests can enjoy the various common facilities in the house. We value your well-being and want you to have a real and authentic experience in the Douro, in a warm and familiar environment. Guests have a kitchen, a pool overlooking the vineyard, a lounge and a dining room.
"Wonderful lodging with a beautiful house and garden a lovely family who is very kind and thoughtful, great breakfast with fresh orange juice and great sheep and goat cheeses... Also we received great trip tips."
"…It is only after you have experienced Manuela's hospitality and grace, after you have sat at her dinner table and enjoyed her delicious food and wine,… that you realize that you have likely experienced Douro in ways that other travelers may never know."
